IceNet Wireless is hiring a NOC Engineer to monitor IceNet’s Wireless network, manage customer technical queries and work with them to resolve issues.

Job Responsibilities

  • The NOC Engineer will monitor the performance and capacity of the network using the network monitoring system and a variety of tools.
  • The NOC engineer will manage, support and configure deployed network infrastructure.
  • The NOC engineer will constantly monitor hardware, software, and environmental alerts or malfunctions.

When an issue is identified, NOC Engineers work to determine the cause of the problem and work to resolve it remotely on priority.

  • If the issue cannot be resolved remotely, the priority escalation process must be followed, and a ground technician should be dispatched to resolve the issue.
  • When a problem impacts the networking and communication services, the NOC Engineer works to triage or troubleshoot the problem. The NOC Engineer should follow the standard operating procedures. This includes coordinating with different parties involved in problem resolution, customer contacts, IT teams or partner company teams.
  • When problems are too large or complex for quick troubleshooting, the NOC Engineer must escalate the issue to management, next tier resources for assistance in reaching a resolution. NOC Engineers maintain ongoing communication within the team and externally, to keep all stakeholders aware of relevant, known issues and the steps being taken.
  • While responding to incidents, the NOC Engineer must diligently track and document all issues and resolutions in detail. This increases the knowledge base of the NOC and is a record of the health of the system. The NOC has a ticketing system that the NOC Engineer is responsible for updating and maintaining.
  • The NOC engineer is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving customer CPE connection issues. The

NOC engineer must follow standard operating procedure in resolving customer connection issues and escalate to higher tier or management as required.

  • The NOC engineer must keep the customer support updated with the current incidents and will be the lead in charge to update the outages in required communication channels.
  • The NOC Engineer will be the point of contact for customer CPE provisioning and deprovisioning, maintaining and tracking the network and device configurations, firmware, maintenance record, etc.

Candidate Requirements:

  • High school graduate
  • 2-4 years of related NOC experience.
  • Knowledge of various SNMP monitoring and ticketing systems is an asset.
