The Operations Department is seeking a full-time Operations Foreperson. This position is responsible for assisting the Infrastructure Supervisor with supervising roads maintenance and construction projects carried out in the designated responsibility area by the municipality and for providing on-site leadership and technical guidance. All responsibilities are performed in accordance with budgets, objectives, policies and programs approved by Council and all applicable by-laws and Ontario regulations.

The successful candidate should possess:

• 3 years of progressive management experience in a municipality or construction related field
• Secondary School Diploma plus Certified Road Supervisor’s training preferred
• A CET or CRS designation or willing to obtain
• A valid DZ license with clean driver’s abstract
• Demonstrated knowledge of Municipal Public Works standards and levels of service
• General knowledge of gravel and asphalt road maintenance, traffic control, equipment operation and maintenance
• Strong knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Strong ability to function well under pressure, and to respond to frequently changing demands and priorities
• Computer literacy skills in various software applications including budget tracking, Microsoft Office, GIS, Maintenance Management, and other related municipal software.

The salary range for this position is $34.62 – $42.50 per hour based upon a 40-hour work week. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and includes a comprehensive benefit and pension plan.
