RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The successful candidate will be required to perform operational and sanitation duties in any one of our Malting Plant, Grain handling operations and Packaging Facility.
  • Operation of processing facility using automated process controls
  • Operating automated processing equipment
  • Manual washing using high pressure wash hoses and various chemical sanitizing agents
  • Loading and unloading of grain from railcars (work from heights)
  • Vacuuming, sweeping and/or shoveling of grain
  • Operating varying mobile equipment (Zoom-boom, Rail king, Fork-lift)
  • Performing minor repairs and troubleshooting activities
  • Monitoring and auditing the quality of the products being produced
  • Order fulfillment
  • Loading and unloading orders and supplies
  • General Sanitation as required
  • Adhering to all safety rules and regulations at all times

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in grain handling, grain operations, food processing or manufacturing considered an asset
  • Bagging line experience is an asset
  • Manufacturing experience is an asset
  • Forklift experience is an asset
  • Warehouse Management or Inventory Control software system experience preferred
  • Ability to comfortably lift and carry 55lbs multiple times per day, at distances of up to 100ft.
  • Previous experience in the safety and securement of rail cars
  • High degree of mechanical aptitude
  • Previous safety training an asset
  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Ability to work alone or in a group
  • Attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and self-starter

EDUCATION

High school diploma. Preference will be given to those applicants with post-secondary education.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • On-the-job training provided upon hiring.
  • Safety training provided upon hiring.
  • Personal Protective Equipment required in all work environments.
  • Shift work required.
  • Some positions require outdoor work.
  • Indoor work environments can vary between wet, dusty, cold, hot and high noise conditions.
  • Work around automated equipment

COMPENSATION
$26.55 during the probation period, $29.00 thereafter.
