Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities / Position Overview:

Outside Sales Associate in our Finishing and Moulding Department is responsible for all sales functions in a professional manner for road-sales by providing prompt and efficient service to achieve maximum sales and customer satisfaction. Strong professional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with conflict resolution.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit a positive, friendly and helpful attitude with customers by developing a professional relationship with them
  • Provide accurate quotes in a timely manner.
  • Assess customer needs and provide expert advice on any products, whether they are customers on job sites, walk-ins or call-in customers
  • Communicate effectively with customers, store associates and management to exceed all client sales and service expectations
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and attitude with team members, customers, store associates and managers while performing work
  • Follow up on orders and answer calls in a timely manner
  • Keep up-to-date with new products and their technical applications
  • Ensure compliance with procedures and company standards
  • Record and complete transactions with sales orders
  • Perform other duties as requested by management

Knowledge, Skills, Ability and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the building supply industry required, with a background in Finishing. (Doors, Mouldings etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge with doors, moulding and finishing is a must. Window knowledge is a bonus.
  • Ability to read and understand house plans as well as accurately do takeoffs in relation to finishing products.
  • Ability to Accurately Perform site measures for Doors, windows, mouldings etc.
  • Knowledge of Rough opening sizes.
  • Experience in customer service
  • Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills with customers, employees and management to exceed sales and service expectations
  • Enjoy working with people with positive attitude and proven ability to work under pressure

Knowledge, Skills, Ability and Experience Continued

  • Proficient computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to travel to various job sites with Valid class 5 driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Analytical and have excellent problem-solving skills, with above average math skills and attention to detail a must
  • Flexible and able to adapt to operational needs and deadlines
  • Exceptional Time Management Skills
  • Work in a setting with a high sense of urgency and drive; able to set priorities and deliver results within deadlines and ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Autonomous and dependable, while working in a team and contributing to the overall company goals
  • Flexibility with schedule with ability to work Saturdays and be able to work overtime when needed
