Key Responsibilities

Loading/Unloading

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate loading and unloading of racks to/from the main paint line according to the Paint line schedule
  • Properly and securely hang the loaded paint racks on the line
  • Follow established colour change, line gap and paint rack positioning guidelines while loading and off-loading the main line
  • Ensure the hangers are balanced and the supports are properly spaced to avoid collision with each other around corners
  • Perform visual inspection and ensure that only good quality parts are loaded and secured to the racks. Report found issues to the Loading Lead Hand, Shift Co-ordinator, Production Supervisor and/or Management
  • Performs visual inspection of paint racks to ensure that they are in good repair. Report found issues to the Loading Lead Hand, Shift Co-ordinator and/or the Production Supervisor or Management
  • Reports any requested changes to the schedule to the Loading Lead Hand, Shift Co-ordinator, Production Supervisor and/or Management
  • Assists with racking and unracking of parts as required
  • Report any issues with the conveyor chain, conveyor components and/or hangers on the line to the Loading Lead Hand, Shift Co-ordinator, the Production Supervisor, Maintenance and/or Management

Role Summary

Booth Operation

  • Operates equipment and handles paint materials as related to all paint booths.
  • Develop an understanding/operation of the principles and operation of robot controls (GUI).
  • Assess and follow the paint schedule. Report and react to ay discrepancies on the daily schedule.
  • Perform minor maintenance
  • Support and contribute to paint uptime and gap efficiency improvements
  • Identify and report equipment issues to maintenance
  • Follow start-up, production modes and shut down procedures

Kitchen Operation

  • Receive, properly store and document raw paint, solvents, filters, gasses and any other ancillary paint kitchen equipment/supplies as required
  • Prepares, verifies, adjusts, and documents physical paint properties as required.
  • Maintains accurate log sheet /records of all adjustments made.
  • Follows the Daily Paint Schedule and utilizes peggable, overhead and mini systems and/or distributes paint materials to paint booths as required.
  • Identifies and reports paint kitchen equipment issues (pumps, mixers, systems, measuring devices, associated hardware and software)
  • Identifies and reports paint materials issues (raw paint, solvents, and gases)

  • Adhere to all applicable Business Operating Systems Procedures.
  • Always ensures a clean and safe working environment.
  • Follow all required personal protective equipment and safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Any other reasonable request made by Management.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must be fluent in English (both written and verbal).
  • Must have 6 months or more experience in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Grade 10 level education or equivalent years of work experience.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to take directions well.
  • Forklift license recommended
