RAPS is Seeking a Part Time Caregiver for an Individual with Dementia and Diabetes (S20)
Location: Leduc
Days/Hours are flexible: to be discussed with employer
(Approximately 20-30 hours per week: 6-8 hour shifts including weekends)
Job Description:Maintain a safe and healthy environment
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Prompting and actively participating in the daily routine
- Personal care assistance including bathing, dressing, changing incontinence products, range of motion exercises, medication administration, etc.
- Light housekeeping and laundry
- Healthy home cooked meal preparation
- Monitoring food intake and blood glucose levels
- Support on outings if necessary
- Supervising and acting proactively by redirecting, cueing, and guiding the individual
- Providing companionship by engaging and interacting during daily activities
Qualifications and Other Requirements: Must have a recent criminal record check including the vulnerable sector check, driver’s license, and reliable vehicle. Candidates must have at least one year of experience with dementia, and must be able to identify and adapt to dementia-specific behaviors/needs. Additional caregiving education/experience is considered an asset. Must be a non-smoker and be double vaccinated against Covid-19. Preference will be given to applicants that speak Arabic and have experience cooking diabetic-friendly meals.
Rate of Pay: $19.50/hour
