Job Description:

Under the direction of the Chair, Design Studies, the incumbent provides front-line customer service and support, outside of the standard College business hours, to students and staff of the Photography Program, Continuing Education courses and Multimedia Programs. The incumbent maintains an equipment room and studios, and loans equipment to students while ensuring equipment is tracked and returned in good working condition. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the Photography Program facilities are kept tidy and organized.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides front-line customer service to students of various programs by:
  • Requiring all students to complete and sign an equipment loan agreement;
  • Maintaining and monitoring daily reservations made by students for any conflicts;
  • Monitoring studio use and sign in logs loaning equipment to students, communicating to students their equipment return due dates and times and maintaining proper documentation on each loan transaction;
  • Ensuring proper documentation is prepared and maintained when equipment is returned broken and that students are advised of their responsibility to make restitution for broken equipment;
  • Serving the students with respect, courtesy and ensuring they are given adequate access to equipment on hand;
  • Investigating when equipment is not returned by the due date and time by contacting students with equipment and reporting these students to the Academic Coordinator and/or Technicians.
Manages inventory, Inventory Software and safe storage of equipment and supplies for the programs by:
  • Ensuring Health and Safety regulations are followed when storing equipment and supplies;
  • Make sure inventory software is up to date, ensuring that all equipment, lockers and edit suite resources have the proper details and student account allocations;
  • Ensuring that the Photography Program facilities are kept tidy and organized.

Required Qualifications:
  • Two (2) Year diploma in Photography, Interactive Multimedia or related field;
  • Up to three (3) years experience in a client service environment, preferably related to photography, television, film or multimedia;
  • Excellent client service skills;
  • Conflict resolution skills;
  • Proven analytical, organizational and records managements skills;
  • Proven ability to independently organize time and priorities;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Solid understanding of current software (Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud);
  • Flexible schedule.
Anticipated Weekly Schedule:
Monday to Friday 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm
