Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Part - Time Quality Control Technician to join our team in beautiful Sechelt British Columbia.

What you'll get to do:

  • Have an active role in site health and safety
  • Sample and test raw materials and finished aggregate products according to ASTM and CSA standards
  • Input process control for the sand production process based on sample test results
  • Communicate test results to site management and the product distribution team
  • Provide technical services for the production and maintenance teams
  • Work in a CCIL certified aggregates laboratory
  • Calibrate and maintain testing tools and equipment
  • Participate in process improvements and troubleshooting of quality issues

Who we are looking for:

  • Post-secondary education in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics field, or 2 years work experience in a production environment
  • Demonstrated mathematics and analytical skills
  • Product quality control experience and familiarity with ASTM and CSA standards is an asset
  • Desire to work cooperatively as part of a productive team
  • Ability to work safely, and independently without constant supervision
  • Able to work inside and outside in year-round weather conditions
  • In good physical condition, able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., sit and stand for extended periods of time, kneel, climb ladders, and walk on varied terrain
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule including different shifts and overtime when needed
  • Valid Class 5 drivers license
