We are looking for an experienced Purchaser to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following

• Order Parts from various vendors
• Receive into Inventory
• Invoice if required
• Log to RO if required
• Log to QB SO if required
• Monitor parts orders and follow up.
• Liaise with vendors and establish working relationships.
• Respond to and/or get answers to vendors questions.
• Source new vendors and evaluate possibilities for better sources of product.
• Conduct vendor polls and assess value vs. pricing vs lead time.
• Set up freight shipments and put out tenders to freight carriers
• Organize project parts procurement and establish record keeping
• Deal with special orders and source and price hard to find parts

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• Understanding of machinery concepts
• Understanding of purchasing flow and process
• Basic understanding of mechanical manufacture practice, flow and process
• Basic understanding of accounting process and record keeping practice
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and be able to report to others on request.
• Concept of materials
• Ability to work and plan with other groups within organization
• Working understanding of reading drawings and fabrication plans and basic understanding of drawing creation
• Mechanical repair and/or manufacturing background an asset
• Microsoft working knowledge an asset
• Basic understanding of SOLID WORKS an asset
• Working understanding of QB ENTERPRISE
• Basic understanding of a POS software package
• Parts purchasing experience is required, whether its from Agriculture, Trucking, Heavy Equipment, etc.
