The Batch Plant Operator role is based in Ancaster, Ontario , ON and reports directly to the Operations Supervisor.

What you’ll get to do

  • Accurately proportion cement, aggregates, water, and admixtures in batches to load into ready mix trucks.
  • Work with Production, Transportation, and Dispatch departments regarding material delivery.
  • Work with Dispatch to schedule truck cleaning and advise drivers.
  • Address immediate safety and quality situations with drivers to prevent injury or quality issues and provide feedback to the Operations Supervisor.
  • Coordinate communication with driver/dispatch regarding site conditions, directions, slump requirements and escalate situations to Operations Supervisor as required (high slump, rejected loads, etc.).
  • Responsible for keeping accurate weight, measure, and billing information to ensure proper crediting to customer.
  • Check inventory control of raw materials, concrete additives and/or specialized materials and notifies appropriate suppliers of production needs.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable environmental regulations as it relates to the proper operation of batch plant equipment.
  • Responsible for daily inspection of facilities and will complete maintenance checklist.
  • Operate a front-end loader when needed.

Experience and Skills

  • 2-4 years of batch plant experience highly preferred
  • Experience working in an aggregate’s facility preferred.
  • Maintenance experiences a plus.
  • Must have ability to operate Loader and other yard equipment as needed.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
