Our client, a distribution company located in Mississauga, ON is looking for a Senior Manager of Rates and Pricing to join their team.

What you will do in this role:

• Market, economic and price modeling using Excel or other tools as appropriate.
• On-going analysis of risk trends and customer segments, competitive offerings, market elasticity, economic trends and structure, product offerings and pricing level relative to the budget and corporate goals
• Keep abreast of market conditions and able to quickly respond to sales opportunities and recommend potential areas of new business.
• Complete rate proposals to meet the needs of our clients correctly and completely.
• Complete All RFP / Tenders
• Responsible for All Ontario / West Spot Quotes
• Responsibility for costing analysis on new wins to verify contribution as expected.
• Ad Hoc Costing’s on existing business as assigned.
• Major Account ownership as assigned.
• Activity Based Costing
• Provide sales support as necessary on customer calls and visits.
• Special projects and studies as required.
• Aid in the development of standardized costing and pricing templates for spot quotes and new business quotes.
• Monitor all inbound and outbound line haul loads for revenue yield and investigate all low yields.
• Work closely with and support rates administration
• Develop and/or maintain KPI’s and ensure achievement of team’s assigned KPIs.
• Ensure labor costs targets are met.

What you will bring to the role:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in transportation rates/pricing
• In-depth understanding of the LTL transportation business
• Previous experience in the transportation industry, both with asset based and non-asset-based carriers.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Marketing, Business Administration, or similar discipline
• Strong pricing acumen with ability to make a significant contribution to profitability.
• Experience managing complex RFP’s.
• Proficiency with financial modeling, pricing analytics and optimization, margin profitability.
• Experience with Transportation Management Software would be an asset.
