The Job Shoppe is hiring Full-Time Printing Production Operators to join our team at a leading Printing facility in Lakeshore, Ontario. Wage:

  • Base $19.50/hr

(Shift Premium: $0.75/hr on Swings Afternoons)
(Shift Premium: $1.00/hr on Midnights)

Start Date: Immediate start dates are available

Shifts:

  • Swing Shift (Days 6 am to 2 pm & Afternoons 2 pm to 10 pm)
  • Midnight Shift (10 pm to 6 am)

Position Type: Full-Time, Ongoing (Must be available to work 40 hrs weekly plus overtime)

What You’ll Be Doing:

Printing Production Operator may work in a variety of departments while on assignment with our client. The responsibilities and duties change based on the department you are working in. Successful candidates will be assigned and trained within a specific department on their first day however their department may change throughout their assignment.

Below is a list of the Most Common Duties:

  • Receive, sort, and put away inventory
  • Operating the controls of printing machines to create customer orders
  • Perform visual checks of finished products to ensure products meet quality requirements
  • Scanning and packaging products into appropriate bins
  • Retrieving carts of cut printed material and banding individual orders
  • Scan, pick and prepare customer’s orders for shipment
  • Build, pack, secure and place labels on boxes
  • Use scanners to read bar codes on products when processing orders
  • View prompts on screens and follow the direction for some tasks
  • Troubleshoot problems
  • Follow all SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Adhere to strict safety, quality, and production standards
  • Maintain a clean workstation

  • Clean and climate-controlled facility
  • Face-paced work environment
  • Safety First (The client will provide additional safety items for associates such as hearing and cutting protection)
  • Casual dress code with a few rules to follow for safety
  • A team environment (Associates will work on small or large teams that support each other and meet production needs)

Position Requirements:

  • Experience in a Warehouse, Manufacturing, or fast-paced work environment (6 months or more)
  • Able to follow instructions; verbally and in writing
  • Working knowledge of general computer skills (MS Office)
  • Able to work under tight time restrictions and meet deadlines
  • Able to work 8-hour shifts and overtime when needed
  • Obtained your High School Diploma or GED equivalently
  • CAS Safety boots and glasses required
  • Reliable transportation (not on a bus route)

Physical Demands of the Position:

  • Lift up to 50 lbs
  • Push utility carts up to 60 lbs
  • Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts
  • Go up and down stairs (where applicable)
  • Repetitive use of both hands, and good physical dexterity are required
