Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with a team of engineers and other professionals on a wide range of projects including performance investigations, repairs/modifications, installation of new equipment and redevelopments. Projects vary in scale from small single discipline projects to very large, multidiscipline projects with project costs.
  • Perform work primarily in the process discipline; however also provide support/assistance to other disciplines. Work with project teams including engineers, operations personnel, project managers, environmental professionals, and other stakeholders, to help develop the scope, objectives and user requirements of individual projects.
  • Support technology assessments and reviews. Support requirements for process validations and conduct process simulations.
  • Process equipment/piping sizing and specification.
  • Development of process calculations.
  • Support the development of PFDs, P&IDs, Line and Tie-in Lists.
  • Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders for the process aspects of industrial construction. Develop guidelines and specifications for the handling of dangerous chemicals, environmental protection and/or standards for foods, materials and consumer goods. Establish quality control programs, operating procedures and control strategies to ensure consistency and adherence to standards for raw materials, products and waste products or emissions.
  • Capable of developing scoping studies, design basis memorandums and participation in engineering design specifications and detail engineering. Ability to technically support and troubleshoot project efforts through construction and commissioning.
  • Provide internal “Safe Design” checks on project packages. Assist in the ongoing development of TWD internal systems to improve our quality and efficiency of delivering effective projects to clients.
  • Familiarization of various design codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME).

Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Registration as an Engineer-in-Training in the province of New Brunswick
  • Beginner to intermediate level skills with AutoCAD is preferred. Knowledge of HYSYS is an asset.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project)
  • Able to conduct detailed calculations to ensure that designs meet engineered standards and applicable codes.
  • Experience with multiple phases of projects including preliminary and detailed design, tendering, construction supervision and commissioning is considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Motor Vehicle Operator's License to facilitate independent travel to project sites and other office locations
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a range of personalities to establish effective working relationships with the required stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
