We are looking for an outgoing, self-motivated, and detailed individual, who possesses a strong work ethic and has an eye for detail and accuracy, who is a problem-solver with great communication and interpersonal skills.The Assistant Production Manager will assist with the overall operations of the production department and work to improve program execution and department profitability. Reporting to the Manager, your duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities

  • Produces products according to production schedules and specifications, is responsible to maintain quality requirements and can troubleshoot and resolve specific equipment problems
  • Rotating through a variety of tasks to ensure product quality and consistency
  • Establishes high standards and takes personal responsibility for the quality, accuracy and timeliness of work
  • Performs equipment start up and shut down procedures and completes appropriate checklist documentation for various pieces of equipment including but not limited to fire mixers, depositors, mixers, grinders, and cream beaters
  • Assist with ordering materials and ingredients required to replenish kitchen inventory
  • Complies with all safety policy, accident prevention and compliance programs; reviews work areas for potential issues that could result in losses and reports injuries and hazards
  • Maintains area to a satisfactory level of cleanliness and sanitation
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Ensure food safety and quality control of all products at all times
  • Ensure health and safety standards are executed

Experience:

  • Must have valid work authorization in Canada
  • Completion of Food Safety Level 2, Sanitation, Allergen Control or equivalent education and experience
  • Ability to read recipes, measure, perform calculations and communicate effectively in spoken and written English
  • Minimum 2- 3 years of similar work experience in commercial food production
  • Loves working in a clean and well-maintained workplace environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs regularly
