Position: Production Supervisor
Schedule: Always daytime 6 am to 6 pm on a rotation (36 or 48hrs/week)
Salary: $76 000-$79 000

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Production Manager and working as part of a team of supervisors, you will:
  • Supervise, schedule, support and coach production employees by supporting the training program (schedule management, determine training refreshment needs as required, etc.) and evaluate skills acquired as a result of training. You will also delegate work to employees, monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback throughout tasks.
  • Conduct performance reviews, motivate team members and create strategies to increase productivity by setting individualized and team performance goals for employees.
  • When applicable apply appropriate disciplinary measures.
  • Resolve quality of work issues, employee issues and other concerns in an effective and timely manner.
  • Ensure that employees comply with company policies and legal regulations and that the OHS and quality impacts are analyzed when assigning a task.
  • Facilitate daily production meetings and production reports.
  • Provide assistance with laboratory, logistics and engineering requests.
  • Ensure compliance of documents generated by operators.
  • Be able to replace the critical tasks of the production clerk and production scheduler.
  • With the help of the operators, be able to analyze and correct process deviations.
  • Provide assistance to maintenance employees during work (identifying problems, coordinating with operators and securing equipment).



Qualifications
  • College technical or any other academic training deemed relevant (mechanical related an asset).
  • Proven experience in supervising a team governed by a work contract (employee association) will be considered an asset.
  • Proven experience in food and pharmaceutical manufacturing is an asset.
  • Demonstrate organizational and technical leadership.
  • Resourceful, open-minded and skilled in applied problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Maintains a high standard of work quality with rigor and transparency.
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to influence colleagues towards a collaborative solution.
  • Open to flexible schedules.
  • Very good knowledge of the Office 365 Suite.
  • Be detail oriented.
