| About the role

The Project Management Office plays an integral role within Payments Canada. As Project Coordinator, you will be a key member of a PMO team working to successfully manage several Payments Canada projects covering a variety of scope including business and technology transformation and process improvement.

Reporting to the Manager, PMO, the Project Coordinator will be charged with assisting our Project Managers in organizing our ongoing projects. This task involves monitoring project plans, schedules, budgets, and expenditures, organizing and participating in stakeholder meetings, and ensuring that project deadlines are met in a timely manner.

This is a term position till July 2024.

| What You’ll Do

This position will be responsible for the following:
  • Provide support to Project Manager(s) on multiple projects through the execution of all stages of the project life cycle following a Payments Canada project management methodology;
  • Support the Project Manager(s) in managing projects to allotted timelines, resource requirements, budgets, quality, and benefit expectations;
  • Support the maintenance of task timelines/completion and resource assignment/allocation in project plans;
  • Support the documentation and maintenance of project risks, issues, actions and decisions as directed by the Project Manager(s) and/or project team;
  • Manage small projects independently and as required to allotted timelines, resource requirements, budget, quality, and benefit expectations;
  • Ensure documentation is maintained throughout the length of the project;
  • Prepare necessary presentation materials for meetings;
  • Chair and facilitate meetings where applicable and distribute minutes to all project team members;
  • Developing effective working relationships with all Payments Canada staff members and working to identify and resolve any issues as they arise;
  • Develop and assist with executing effective project status updates;
  • Assist in the financial management of projects (and their adherence to project budget) under the direction of the Project Manager;
  • Ensure consistency with the approved, scalable project management methodology;
  • Provide administrative support as required (such as documenting meeting minutes, booking project-related meetings).
| Minimum Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Commerce, Information Technology, or a related field;
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in project coordination and administration.
| Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince 2 designation are considered assets;
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset;
  • Experience working on business, compliance, security, and/or technical transformation initiatives is considered an asset;
  • Experience working in the payments or financial sector is considered an asset.
| Salary Range

Based on qualifications and experience: $63,751 and $79,689.
