Role Overview

Reporting to the Fabrication Plant Supervisor, the Fabrication Manufacturing Project Lead will provide leadership and coordination of fabrication manufacturing of the project. The incumbent will assist in development and implementation of fabrication policies and procedures, liaise directly with other department personnel to ensure project goals are met on budget, while delivering the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture.

This is a straight day shift opportunity, leading a small team, in a clean and organized shop.

The Fabrication Manufacturing Project Lead job responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Technical
  • Act as a Liaison between CWB and Eclipse
  • Assist with CWB audits
  • Organize and maintain CWB welder tests
  • Recognize problems, initiate action, assist in problem solving and evaluate results on major issue prior to releasing drawings to manufacturing
  • Review and approve all project designs and that the designs meet the Eclipse high standards of quality, reliability and safety
  • Develop and coordinate project designs working with the mechanical engineering & fabrication or manufacturing teams
  • Create cut-lists from internal and external drawings.
  • Order all raw materials according to drawing requirements
  • Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations
  • Ensure concepts meet Eclipse Automation quality, safety and reliability standards
Leadership
  • Guide, direct, teach, assist and advise department staff on Fabrication practices and standards
  • Direct, organize and coordinate assigned staff to prioritize project delivery
  • Direct and oversee the fabrication manufacturing to ensure project contract deliverables are met
  • Work to specific project budgets and timelines provided by project management
  • Liaise between all departments to ensure on time delivery of purchased items and on time delivery of Eclipse machinery and equipment
  • Initiate and supervise the planning and development of project mechanical designs and order any required department materials
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety rules and procedures
Project Execution
  • Ensure that Company ISO and N-299 Standards are followed
  • Act as the point-of-Contact for the PM department on all for assigned Nuclear projects
  • Update project completion with respect to weekly confirmation of critical milestones, labor hours and percent complete on project
  • Ensure Scheduled milestones are met
  • Update Open Issues List as required
  • Notify the PM if milestones cannot be met
  • Assist in performance reviews
  • Attend appropriate meetings
  • Delegation of duties of the project to team members
  • Enter and/or update department employee time reports and job tasks allocations
  • Ensure project tasks are entered correctly and promptly for accurate man hour records for project management department
  • Respond to CAR’s issued to the department
Qualifications
  • 10+ years’ experience in the custom automation or nuclear fabrication industry
  • Welding Supervisor Ticket W47.1 required and W47.2 an asset
  • CWB Welding Inspector Ticket. W178.2 an asset.
  • Has successfully completed a Welder’s Certificate or equivalent experience
  • Must have up to date GTAW, GMAW, FCAW certificates or willing to obtain
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in computer software (MS Office Suite)
