The Ministry of Social Services is seeking an innovative, high performing, strategic and dynamic leader to join the team as a Project Manager.

The project management unit in the Strategic Management Branch specializes in the facilitation and implementation of strategic projects with an increased focus on change management, stakeholder collaboration, and continuous improvement. Our team focuses on delivering quality results in an efficient and effective way to meet and improve on ministry outcomes.

In this role, you will provide senior level project management support to ministry leadership and divisions. The position is responsible for an assigned portfolio of projects and will work with stakeholders to ensure successful project completion and benefits realization.

Primary responsibilities include guiding strategy implementation; leading, directing, and managing diverse teams; facilitating collaboration, problem-solving, and continuous improvement; writing and managing a variety of project documents; building capacity, influencing, and motivating others to deliver on outcomes; and negotiating and managing risks and issues in relation to scope, resourcing, roles and responsibilities, and project timelines.

Typically, the knowledge for this position would be gained through the successful completion of a master’s degree in public administration, social sciences, public policy, or related area. Other combinations of experience and education may be recognized if clearly articulated in the application. Knowledge of project and change management methodologies is a requirement.

The position will be located at one of our Social Services Offices. Location will be determined based on successful candidate location.
