POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Property Supervisor, the Property Coordinator is responsible for the overall distribution of agency vehicles, maintain service schedules, and up to date service lists of all maintenance performed. The Property Coordinator will maintain all vehicle registration and insurance records. This position will be required to co-ordinate, purchase, ship and track all goods, ensuring they arrive at their destination by air and/or road, in a timely fashion. Basic automotive and constructing knowledge is an asset. As per the direction from Tikinagan’s Board of Directors and by Chiefs resolutions, and in order to work in the true spirit of Tikinagan Mamow Obiki-ahwahsoowin Service Model, Tikinagan has been moving services and staff positions to the community level. The direction for the agency is to continue to decentralize staff to the First Nations served by Tikinagan.

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Strong knowledge/experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Email and other computer applications
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Proven ability to maintain a budget
    • Ability to maintain/schedule vehicle logs, mileages, maintenance, etc.
    • To demonstrate knowledge in construction and automotive repair
    • To have good verbal and written interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to speak one of the Nishnawbe-Aski language dialects would be an asset
    • To possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License.
    • Must provide a Criminal Record Check prior to employment.
    • Must be able to travel via airplane, as travel is required to the northern communities in Tikinagan’s catchment area.
    • Successful applicant must provide proof of both COVID-19 vaccinations.

All successful applicants will require an application for, or a current, Criminal Record Check(CRC). A Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) for those positions working with children will also be required. As such, it is recommended that applicants apply for a CRC & VSC as soon as possible.
