The Psychometric Technician is responsible for the administration and scoring of psychological and neuropsychological tests under the supervision of a Psychologist. The Psychometric Technician engages in psychological testing in area(s) determined by (1) the incumbent's demonstrated areas of competency, and (2) the mandate(s) of the relevant Service(s).



Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

- Completion of a University Degree - preferably a Bachelor in Psychology
  • Knowledge of or experience in psychological test administration
  • Previous health care background, with experience working directly with clients
  • Experience working with cognitively impaired clients is preferable
  • Demonstrated ability to manage clients with behavioural problems
  • Training or experience in statistical techniques and analysis
  • Familiarity with computer software including Windows, MSDOS, Microsoft Word, and computerized psychological test administration
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and sound judgement in the performance of duties
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an ethical and professional manner
  • Good physical health


CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
