Canda Six Fortune Enterprise Co. Ltd. is one of the leading importers and distributors of Asian food products from the Pacific Rim and other regions of the world. We are currently looking for a team-player to help us promote high quality products as well as ensure that our products comply with North American food safety standards.

Position Summary:

The Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist reports to the QA Manager and provides support to management, Purchasing and other departments in all matters related to food and cosmetic safety and quality. The QA Specialist will also be responsible for leading the development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of a food and cosmetic safety and quality management system across the company.

Responsibilities:

Perform Internal Audit & Corrective Action Plan Provide regulatory knowledge and support on food safety and quality related issues with different departments Assist management to handle routine projects and liaison with operation team and others.
Food Label Development:

  • Determine the contents of QA documents (specification, ingredients, allergens, CoA, labelling and food safety documents) as per CFIA & Health Canada regulation requests to be used to develop food and cosmetic product labels and ensure food safety of the products.
  • Update current product labels to compliance with Canadian new food labelling regulation
  • Artwork review
  • Collect and read market research relevant to products.
  • Communicate with suppliers to gather detailed information.
  • Collaborate with vendor and other departments in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Compile, maintain, and update QA documentation, test reports, food safety certificates, etc.

Administration:

  • Resolve customer and CIFA complaints and non-conformity issue.
  • Implement product hold and release.
  • Sample preparation and delivery.
  • Product inspection.
  • Ensure food safety documents and certificates are updated accordingly
  • Maintain tracking documentation of department work and output.
  • Tracker update.

Requirements/ Must-Haves:

  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience with food safety, food labelling, and internal audit.
  • University degree in a related discipline, Food Science, Quality Assurance, Nutrition, Science or College
    Diploma in Regulatory Affairs or Quality Assurance
  • Good understanding of Food and Drugs Art and Regulations, Canadian Food Labeling Regulations, and
    requirements, etc.
  • Possess intermediate to advance skills in Microsoft applications
  • Experience with data entry
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English
  • Detail oriented with good organizational and prioritization skills under pressure and meet time sensitive deadlines
  • Able to build and maintain effective working relationships
  • Strong sense responsibility, self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision while actively
    participating in a team environment
  • A problem solver and an advocate for continuous improvements

Assets/ Nice-to-Haves:

  • French and Chinese is an asset
