Primary Focus

The Quality Manager is charged with developing, maintaining and executing a sustainable and scalable program that delivers the completed high quality finished product that our customers deserve. This position reports to the CEO. The successful candidate will have experience successfully managing a Quality department as well as new product launches.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure processes, raw materials WIP and final products are in compliance and escalate quality issues as needed.
  • Develop, maintain and control the Business Operating System (policy, manual, procedures, work instructions, formats and records)
  • Control of documentation and records.
  • Lead, manage and train Quality Auditors, Quality Inspectors & Administrators.
  • Develop new processes and procedures as needed to meet quality expectations.
  • Establish quality checks for new regulations, new launches, testing requirements, products, suppliers, processes and procedures.
  • Certify finished product to new specifications.
  • Evaluate new and existing suppliers when needed and develop new tests/inspection requirements for new products.
  • Ensure procedures to verify products and processes at all stages of production are controlled.
  • Evaluate customer concerns, find root cause and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure all documentation related to components, processes or finished goods are properly identified.
  • Confirm all product identification, labels, decals, etc. are in compliance with engineering and quality requirements as well as RVIA, CSA and other government entities.
  • Control measuring and monitoring devices (calibration, training, record keeping etc.)
  • Responsibility surrounding the measuring analysis and improvement of products and processes.
  • Control of non-conforming products
  • Propose and document continuous improvements.
  • Develop, maintain and control procedures, work instructions and forms.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned.

Competency

  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Able to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Capable of planning, coordinating and prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously, and working to targets
  • Strong computer literacy to create charts, presentations and maintain data
  • Considered an asset to have experience with MS Dynamics 365
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Proven experience advising, guiding and coaching others.
  • Demonstrated ability to streamline processes and improve efficiencies.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities

Education/Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar quality role, preferably within an automotive environment
  • Knowledge and experience with standard Quality core tools (e.g., APQP, PPAP, FMEA…)
  • Knowledge and experience with ISO/TS 16949 and/or IATF 16949 will be considered an asset.
  • Completion of a post-secondary degree or certificate in Engineering, Quality or related field
  • Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing, Six Sigma
  • Excellent organizational abilities
