Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all activity related to the receiving of goods
  • Inspect, count and verify incoming materials against packing slips or other documents, against purchase orders, record shortages and reject damaged goods
  • Unpack, and route goods to appropriate areas – put away if required
  • Accurately receive items into Materials Management Software and process paperwork accordingly with Purchasing
  • Triage requests from internal customers for goods and services in person, over the phone and via email.
  • Ability to operate equipment to manoeuver pallets on loading docks, and to transport to appropriate area in a safe manner.
  • Proper staging and routing techniques for incoming and outgoing product and equipment
  • Operation of FIFO system
  • Maintain accurate records of OH Inventory and reconcile weekly with physical counts.
  • Issue demand requisitions in the system to relieve inventory
  • Understand the proper flow of all documentation and records associated with incoming and outgoing goods at Woodstock Hospital.
  • Act as first person contact for internal and external customers of the area
  • Other duties in addition assigned based on area of work. Duties could include but are not limited to:
o verifying, ordering and maintaining appropriate stock levels in assigned area,
o organize and maintain stock locations, including labels and placards when required
o Engage with Purchasing and clinical staff over possible products for procurement or trial based on current need.
o work collaboratively with Directors, clinicians, other Stores Staff and vendor reps to mitigate issues
o Maintain overflow stock and storage areas.
o Management of receiving dock area
  • Duties as assigned by Director of Materials Management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 5 years recent experience, in a computerized Stores environment. Warehousing or inventory experience, particularly in a Healthcare setting. Experience with pallet lifting and moving equipment.
  • College Diploma Preferred
  • Must understand PAR system, Warehousing and Materials Management concepts
  • Must have a demonstrated history of attending work regularly for internal applicants
  • Strong team player, self-motivated, proactive thinker, flexible and adaptable
  • Must possess basic math and intermediate computer skills: Microsoft Excel & Word
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with competing priorities, while demonstrating a high level of accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills, with proven record keeping and reconciliation abilities
  • Ability to build positive relationships with vendors and internal point of contacts
  • Ability to work within a team with minimal supervision
  • Ability to problem solve with a high degree of efficiency and autonomy
  • Must be willing to take direction and accept accountability for record accuracy
  • Must possess and exhibit leadership qualities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential
  • Must have and provide proof of full COVID-19 immunization (2 or more doses)
