APG Canada West is seeking a process engineer to join our management team. You will act as a resource for western Canada and be the lead contributor in driving product quality and production efficiencies in 6 manufacturing facilities in BC, Alberta, and Manitoba.

This position will be centered in Delta, BC and will require up to 25% of travel


Responsibilities:

  • Know the manufacturing process to maximize safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Hands-on root cause analysis on production, engineering, equipment and mechanical improvements.
  • Design projects across the organization aimed at improving process flow while optimizing space, quality, safety, and ergonomics
  • Provide input and scope for capital projects and process re-engineering initiatives
  • Develop, maintain, and support a Continuous Improvement culture focusing on the elimination of waste while striving to provide increased value to our customers, both internal and external
  • Hands on support for production on a day-to-day basis in order to prevent delays, with a focus on technical and processes
  • Gauge performance of value streams, identify bottlenecks and suggest/implement changes as required
  • Design processes or tooling to improve safety, quality, productivity or cost issues for the value streams
  • Research industry best practices and make recommendations to leadership group
  • Create and maintain value stream and cell layouts to aid in standardization of the process, production set-up and product change-over


Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree or technologist diploma with a process, mechanical, or industrial focus
  • In-depth understanding of continuous improvements methods
  • LEAN Blackbelt would be considered an asset
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong trouble-shooting and problem solving skills
  • High degree of analytical thought and creativity
  • Strong computer skills
