High River Hospital is a rural community located just south of Calgary. Hospital services include 24 hour Emergency Department, Surgical Services, Obstetrical Department, Cancer Care, and Medical Inpatients Unit. The Registered Nurse (RN) at the High River Hospital Inpatient Medical Unit works as a member of the health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care to meet the needs of the patients, families, & community. The RN is responsible for assessment planning, implementation, and evolution of care delivered. As a RN you will provide a wide variety of nursing services while taking the necessary steps to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the population served. The RN will work to full scope, provide a leadership role in supporting an integrated approach to patient care, families, and health care team. Extra benefits to this role include free parking and eligibility to receive up to $20,000 forgiven with the Rural Federal Student Loan Forgiveness Program. The Nurse requires the ability to tolerate constant walking, standing, kneeling, bending, reaching, and sustaining posture within a fast-paced unit requiring lifting, pushing, pulling of objects greater than 50lbs. Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.17/hour - $42.96/hour ($35.87/hour - $43.82/hour effective April 1, 2023). Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable. This posting is scheduled to close at 23:59 MT of the posting end date but may be filled earlier if a Regular Employee who holds a position within the unit, program, or office expresses their interest in this vacancy by 23:59 MT on the 5th calendar day following the posting date, under LOU #25. Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Previous Acute Care experience. Effective communication skills required, and self-initiated career growth. Able to work independently and collaboratively. Demonstrated strength in working collaboratively with diverse cultural populations and marginalized populations with socio-economic diversities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Updated ACLS. Recent NVCI training preferred.
