Currently we are seeking experienced RNs for part time positions in the Operating Room, Acute Care and Long Term Care, as well as, casual RNs who will orientate to Acute Care, Emergency and Long Term Care as part of our float pool.

Position Summary: Responsible for the Nursing Care of assigned patients. Works as a senior member of the Nursing Team and directs others in client-centered nursing care. Establishes and maintains a cooperative working relationship with all team members and all departments contributing to the efficient functioning of the department.

We are a fully functioning rural hospital with OR/Day Surgery, Emergency, Acute Care, and Long Term Care units.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of a recognized RN program
• Current License with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta
• Current BLS
• Current ACLS or willingness to obtain within 6 months
• Rural Acute, Emergency, Day Surgery, Operating Room and/or Geriatric Nursing experience an asset.
• Post RN certificate in pre-operative nursing an asset.
• New graduates MUST have a foundation in medicine and/or emergency and/or critical care and/or acute and/or rural nursing combined with solid assessment and medication knowledge.

• Thorough knowledge of nursing principles and procedure.
• Knowledge and skill in techniques of good patient care.
• Adequate technical vocabulary.
• Possess good physical and mental health.
• Able to retain emotional stability in situations of varying circumstances.
• Ability to adhere to the Lamont Health Care Centre’s Mission and Philosophy.
• Quiet and pleasing manner; displaying kindness, respect, tolerance, and sense of responsibility.
• Ability to work within a team, maintaining organization and efficiency.
• Ability to follow directions quickly and accurately.
• Ability to take orders and accept criticism as impersonal and constructive.
• Ability to maintain self-control.
• Display strictness with aseptic technique and a willingness to uphold principles regardless of opposition from any service.
• Ability to work rapidly under tension and supervision without breaks in technique.

Hours: 8 hour shifts - Days/Evenings/Nights
