We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Day Care team, in the Surgical Program.


Reporting Relationship:
Manager, Pre & Post Op & Surgical Day Care (SDC)

Hiring Salary Range: $34.24 - $49.02


Responsibilities:
  • Care of patients pre-op and post operatively.
  • Care of patients post Diagnostic Inventions.
  • Care planning and coordination of care with various team members.
  • Utilization of computerized systems for documentation of patient care.
  • Participation in project teams or Hospital committees as required.
Requirements:
  • Current Ontario Registration with College of Nurses of Ontario required
  • BCLS certification upon hire to show proof of valid current certification (Registered Nurses currently employed by HRH are exempted).
  • Minimum 2 years recent surgical experience required.
  • Minimum 2 year experience in a perioperative setting preferred.
  • Post Anesthetic Care Certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in initiating IV therapy required.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to work with a multidisciplinary team, patients, family members and visitors.
  • Demonstrate good patient assessment skills. Successful completion of the Health assessment course preferred.
  • Demonstrate excellent patient/family teaching skills.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
Hours of work: Must be able to work staggered shifts between the hours of 06:30 and 21:30 hrs.
