The Allied Health Services (AHS) team, under Professional Practice consists of Regulated Healthcare Professional including: Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Social Work, Registered Dietitians, as well as unregulated Rehabilitation Assistants. Each discipline is focused on driving evidence informed practice to promote high quality patient and family centered care.

The team has a professional practice leader (PPL) model for each regulated allied health discipline which promotes and enhances the interprofessional team. Each regulated discipline has their own PPL with dedicated time to enhance their communities of practice, represent their respective disciplines at committees, create policies & procedures, lead corporate level initiatives and drive best practices in the realm of patient care.

We are currently recruiting for a Part Time (0.6FTE) Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to support our acute care as well as ambulatory service (adult and pediatric asthma and pulmonary function) clinics.

As the Respiratory Therapist your role is to provide airway management, initiating and maintaining ventilation for all patient populations including neonatal, paediatric and adult patients in any environment including but not limited to Med/Surge ICU, Neuro ICU, Neonatal ICU, ER, the OR, General Wards, and Homecare and at births of high risk. To provide education for chronic disease management for respiratory related diseases. And to provide full pulmonary function testing including broncho-challenge testing in a designated Lab setting. As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements:

  • College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario Membership required
  • BCLS required
  • NRP required
  • ACLS required
  • Certified Respiratory Educator (CRE) designation or in progress recommended
  • Arterial line certification
  • Previous experience in acute care setting preferred
  • Able to perform all skills, in all patient populations
