Compensation:
The annual salary range for this position is $55,000 - $60,000.

What will you do in this job?:
  • Achieving revenue targets, and managing expenses to desired net operating targets
  • Manage all aspects of the retail business, while coordinating with senior leadership, and communicating with all necessary operations (inside the attraction, or at a different geography)
  • Develop budgets with senior leadership, forecast expenses
  • Manage expenses relative to expectations
  • Hire, train, schedule and onboarding new staff members
  • Develop, revise and update training materials to ensure training is consistently delivered
  • Hold staff accountable to all duties and expectations as laid out in the training materials
  • Provide an environment whereby maximized staff engagement is the culture
  • Uphold high level of staff product knowledge, merchandising and display standards
  • Provide observations, ideas, and feedback on product and merchandising development to BJC Head Buyer and Retail Director
  • Work closely with the BJC Head Buyer to ensure product selection meets BJC aims in product design, sales and margins and ensure product selection is maximizing supplier discounts
  • Issue purchase orders to suppliers as required for both opening booking orders and in season repeats.
  • Work with the BJC inventory team to ensure stock levels are adequate to achieve sales expectations
  • Ensure communication and coordination with retail overhead team is efficient and mutually beneficial
  • Keep all inventory storage and work areas organized, clean, and void of clutter
  • Provide on the floor leadership and role modelling for staff
  • Ensure that team leadership assets are efficiently used
  • Ensure that all transactions are handled with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Manage floats and cash
  • Communicate observations, issues, and customer service complaints to management in a timely fashion
  • Ensure all communications to customers and colleagues are professional in nature and crafted with respect
  • Monitor security in the retail environment
  • Uphold uniform and appearance standards
  • Actively participating in team’s activities during and after operational hours
  • Being on call 1 night per week at our staff accommodation – (MOD program)
  • Active member of the Columbia Icefield Management team, supporting peers & continually working at building a cohesive team which works together to achieve results.
  • Assisting in opening and closing of our staff accommodation, task can vary from cleaning, employee move in/out, uniform cleaning and common room cleaning
  • Other duties as assigned
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
  • 2+ years of leadership experience
  • 2+ years of sales experience
  • Demonstrated ability in management, merchandising, customer service and inventory management
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Hiring and performance management experience
  • Possess excellent conflict management skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Cash / float management experience
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license (with less than 5 demerit points)
  • Able to communicate fluently in English, secondary language skills are an asset
