As a Rock Climbing Instructor, you will design, plan and provide instruction in recreational rock-climbing programs to help participants develop their skill base and knowledge in this area. Primary duties include:

Teach basic skills to participants through sharing of knowledge base.

Develop designs, plans, and resources for program.

Provide safety expertise and ensure well-being of participants.

Prepare and maintain equipment, supplies, and program space.

Maintain program records and assist with program evaluation.
Qualifications

Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.

Current Standard First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) level "C", and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certifications are required.

Non Certified: at least 1 year of rock climbing experience is required.

Certified: at least 2 years of rock climbing experience is required.

Previous leadership and instructional experience in rock climbing is an asset.

You have effective communication skills along with a strong customer service orientation.
Pre-employment Requirements

A valid Security Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Search must be provided. Date of completion must be within the last 12 months.

Pre-employment Drug Test: An offer of employment for this position will be conditional on an applicant passing a pre-employment drug test. This test assesses for use of drugs including cannabis. Failure to pass a pre-employment drug test may prevent an applicant from being hired into any safety sensitive position for a period of up to twelve months.
