Tippet Richardson as the premier and most established Moving and Storage Company in Canada is seeking an experienced professional COD Sales and Corporate Development to grow our Moving Services in the Greater Toronto Area. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be ambitious, and have successful background in Sales. Knowledgeable of the moving and storage industry would be useful but can be taught. NATURE & SCOPE OF WORK:

To provide the highest quality and professional Sales efforts for Tippet Richardson. To assist creating a positive Sales experience for the Customer. Promote growth in business through strong relationships with corporate accounts and one-time transferees (COD).

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop profitable new business through personal contacts, networking, prospecting Corporate accounts and COD Customers.

1. C.O.D Moves

  • Work from our head office
  • Answer incoming telephone sales enquiries.
  • Schedule pre-move surveys; Discuss and advise customers on the pack and move process, transportation methods, routing and transit times; Discuss and advise customers on transit protection/marine insurance benefits, coverage and exclusions.
  • Assist in the pricing for local, international and North American Van Lines estimates.
  • Provide quotations to Private clients.
  • Write proposals for each customer including accurate inventories, photographs instructions, and pricing information.

2. Corporate Relocations

  • Independently develop and complete the necessary training and become acknowledgeable of the assigned markets monthly Plan, which documents measurable goals and includes the specific action items necessary to ensure success. Communicate progress of the Plan each week during the weekly one on one meeting with Management and document results at the end of the month.
  • Identify potential customers, accounts and markets, develop new business, and cultivate existing relationships using sales activities including Research, Prospecting, Telephone & Electronic Communications, Outside Sales Calls, Site Inspections, Trade Shows, and Networking Events, all to achieve the assigned revenue goal.
  • Successfully navigate through the Sales Process including Qualifying, Negotiating and Closing.
  • Understand the customer’s needs, budget and historical spend, along with financial goals and impact to Tippet Richardson and evaluate business opportunities to determine whether such opportunities should be pursued by Tippet Richardson.
  • Review and evaluate and execute sales contracts with customers once approved by management.
  • Ensure systems are established and in place to respond to customers needs within a defined response period. These may include, but are not limited to: telephone inquiries, emails, bids, proposals, confirmation of bookings, thank you letters, follow up letters, etc.
  • Develop and maintain a file and trace system in Moveware to ensure all sales call activity is defined, recorded, traced, and updated in an organized manner.
  • Conduct and/or participate in the required company standard meetings, including but not limited to daily stand up meeting, daily business review, weekly sales meeting, and weekly one-on-one with the Management.
  • Ensure the understanding and implementation of the Tippet Richardson Brand, tools, and resources.
  • Local community involvement via approved memberships in organizations, community service, and networking events.
  • Understand and interpret market conditions, trends, and competition by analyzing data, drawing conclusion on the data and making decisions and recommendations for improvement of revenues.
  • Contribute and work as a “team” member in all facets of the position.
  • Perform other services and duties as requested by Manager. May be called upon to host functions and participate in, or conduct sales blitz, travel and work extended hours to achieve departmental goals.
  • Present a clean, pleasant and professional image to project a positive, polished appearance to staff, potential clients.
  • Provide quotations to Trade and Corporate clients.
  • Write proposals for each customer including accurate inventories, photographs instructions, and pricing information.
  • Assist in preparation of tenders and bids.
  • Preparation of corporate presentations.
  • Maintain and continue developing relationships with existing corporate customers.
  • Maintain and use Moveware for all calling activities related to sales efforts.
  • Follow up with Customers.
  • Perform job site visits.

3. Other

  • Maintain membership to attend meeting of local chamber of commerce, Board of Trade, CERC and any other organization relevant to the business.
  • Network, prospect and develop relationships with corporations requiring the services matching TR’s service lines.
  • Any other duties as directed by Management

Skills Needed:

  • Industry Knowledge

  • A strong desire to develop, both new COD and Corporate Business, matching TR’s service lines
  • Moving & Storage or Relocation Industry Knowledge
  • Sales Experience of at least 5 years
  • Education: Bachelor’s (Preferred)
  • Great computer skills
  • Knowledge of Moveware software would be an asset

Requirements for this position:

  • Minimum 5 years of sales and business development experience in the moving and storage or relocation industry.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule based on customer need
  • A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record, reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and background checks
