Job description:

J&L Beef is currently seeking Sanitation Workers for our Cloverdale facility.

• You would be responsible for ensuring the production facility is cleaned and sanitized in a timely fashion in accordance with HACCP & CFIA regulations.
• You could expect to be lifting and moving products from area to area, using high pressure hot water hoses to wash machines; clean-up tasks such as garbage removal and other activities related to food processing.
• You will need to be comfortable handling raw meat such as chicken, beef, and turkey, comfortable working in a humid, wet environment, and working in a fast-paced environment. Training will be provided.

Requirements for the position:

• Be able to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada and be minimum 18 years of age
• You need to be comfortable working around raw meat products
• Comfortable working in a wet environment with warm/cool temperatures.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
• Able to handle extended periods of static tasks with alertness

Positive attitude and safety focused

Willingness to develop new skills

Previous cleaning experience including GMP’s, and WHIMS are an asset

Attention to detail and ability to find defects in product streams

Ability to operate mobile equipment such as power jack, forklift, scissor lift, and any other mobile equipment would be considered an asset

Full Time Permanent Position

Schedule:
Monday to Friday - 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm with possible overtime daily

Starting Wage: from $18.00 per hour + plus night shift premium of .65 cents per hour
