Scalehouse Operator/Administrative Assistant

Acden Environment Limited Partnership is seeking one (1) Scale House Operator/Administrative Assistant to join its Suncor Base Plant operations. This position will consist of a 7 days on/ 7 days off rotation working 12-hour shifts; however, hours, locations, and schedules may change from time to time due to operational and training requirements. This is a local position to Fort McMurray, AB; candidates must have their own accommodations within the region.

What will the role entail?

The Scale House Operator/Administrative Assistant is responsible for the operation of the landfill weight scale and provides data entry and administrative support working closely with the operations team.

  • Record and log daily records for all landfill deliveries
  • Enter daily scale tickets, driver service logs and shift reports
  • Enter data into Trimble system for landfill operations
  • Utilize MS Excel to create and maintain various spreadsheets and reports
  • Transfer and provide documents to appropriate personnel
  • Record, track and verify waste disposal permits to ensure accuracy and proper use
  • Other related duties as assigned

What are the job requirements?

  • Two (2) or more years’ experience in an Administrative or Data Entry position
  • Waste management or related field experience is an asset
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint)
  • Excellent time management and effective organizational skills
  • High degree of accuracy with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Positive attitude, reliable and team orientated with highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to work harmoniously within a diverse workforce
  • Clear and precise verbal and written communication skills
