Role: School Age Leader- Responsible Adult
Wage: $21.25 - $22.43 per hour, includes $2.00 per hour shift differential
Benefits: Paid sick days, 6% vacation pay (includes scheduled operational closures), 5%

employer-matched pension, paid training, education and career advancement
opportunities

Hours: Shifts between 6:15am to 8:45am and or 2:00pm to 7:30pm Monday to
Friday and full day options during school closure times.

Program:

The YMCA is the largest not-for-profit provider of child care in Canada and the
YMCA of Northern BC is the largest provider in the north, serving: Chetwynd,
Dawson Creek, Fort St. James, Fort St. John, Prince George, Pouce Coupe and
Vanderhoof. YMCA Child Care is a home away from home.

Responsibilities of this role:
• You are fun, enthusiastic and a great role model
  • Interact directly with the children, providing quality care and creative programming
  • Establish and maintain positive daily communication and interaction with families,
providing excellent service and building meaningful relationships
  • Implement YMCA A Place to Connect curriculum with the support of your leader
  • Plan and implement an engaging and developmentally appropriate program of activities
  • Maintain confidentiality of information related to the centre, children, families, and staff
• Ensure all safety and supervision standards are implemented and maintained according

to licensing and YMCA requirements
Qualifications:

  • Must be 19 years of age
  • Responsible Adult certification, equivalent child related training or a willingness to obtain
training (at least 20 hours of training)
  • Current Child Care First Aid, CPR and AED certification or willingness to obtain
  • Three professional references (two references pertaining to child care or supervision)
  • Current immunization record and TB testing compliance (or willingness to obtain)
  • Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check with clear Vulnerable Sector Search
