We are seeking a Senior Accounting Technician for a full-time, remote position. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Finance, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for month end close procedures and supervising the accounts payables and accounts receivables teams.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs general ledger account analysis;
• Bank reconciliations;
  
• Must be able to perform complete cycle of month end close procedures;
• Accrual based accounting entries;
• Prepaid allocation in the general ledger;
• Government remittances;
• Monthly audit functions;
• Insure accuracy and completeness of accounts receivable and accounts payable at month end;
• Ensure appropriate accounting policies are being applied consistently;
• Complete expense accruals, adjustments and reconciliations;
• Ability to document process flows and update on a regular basis;
• Assist senior management in producing customized reports and monthly financial statements;
  
• Support accounts payable and receivable team with questions when required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Post secondary 3 year in Accounting;
• 5 years experience in a similar position;
• Strong knowledge of general accounting;
• Good command of the office suite (Excel, Word, Teams);
• Mandatory knowledge of Sage;
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and work in a high volume environment;
• Must work well under pressure of deadlines;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English;
• French is an asset;
• Sense of priorities and organization;
• Team Player, Spirit of collaboration and commitment;
• Ability to manage several files simultaneously.
