Responsibilities
- Develop audit work programs and prepare workpapers that support observations and document work performed
- Review transactions recorded transactions in ledgers including bills, invoices, deposits, receipts, credit notes, credit card charges, cheques, and payroll
- Prepare accounting schedules and perform computations of accruals, property and equipment, depreciation and estimates
- Review prepared reports of Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Sales and HST Tax Returns and reconcile to the accounting ledgers
- Supervise and perform monthly closing, general journals, tax and accounting procedures
- Proofing of financial statements and other documents
- Prepare schedules, account analyses, footings, work papers and projects as requested
- 3+ years of public accounting experience or internal audit
- Professional designation (CPA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent) or pursuing a professional designation is preferred
- Demonstrate ability to investigate and analyze problems as they arise and resolve and/or recommend competent solutions
- Knowledge of internal audit practices, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements and testing approaches
- Ability to analyze and evaluate financial statement data
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential information at all times
- Excellent written communication, Excellent oral communication, Accurate, Flexibility, Organized, Team player, Reliability, and Dependability
- Business Equipment and Computer Applications: MS Word, MS Excel, Quick Books, Simply Accounting, MS Outlook, Accounting software
