Job Summary

Reporting to the Director engineering the Senior Engineer plays a critical strategic role in all aspects of business process engineering, Layout of distribution centers, ad hoc financial and business analysis, and project management.

The role will require superior communication skills and analytic thinking in identifying key strategic project initiatives and providing relevant and value-added communication planning and analysis. You will also foster and develop effective relationships with National Transportation, National Enterprise security, National Sales, National Quality, Procurement Operations and Technology Service Providers, and other key stakeholders to identify, define, prioritize and execute strategic and innovative initiatives. The role requires superior communication skills, but also, financial analysis, and project management skills demonstrating a senior contribution to support supply chain.

Duties/Accountabilities:

Technical

• Develops a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical supply chain Operations. Performs end to end operations optimization. Identifying internal and external strategic opportunities and direction.

• Improve key business processes to deliver value in an end to end environment. Ensure local operations teams have the proper tools and training to sustain the gains.

• Manage Distribution Center layout design, expansion/re-engineering, and implementation.

• Assess and implements MHE, or technology solutions that improve the supply chain efficiency

• Design, source and install key area of the warehouses such as high-level security zone, cold storage, storage platform, storage solution, automated conveyors system etc.

• Identifies and assesses strategic business opportunities that improve operations effectiveness and provides relevant business analysis. Develops and maintains benchmarking/comparable analyses for decision-making.

• Develop/grow the operations teams on operation efficiency and foster continuous improvement mindset

• Communicates strategically and engages leadership where necessary to facilitate the strategic planning process.

• Keep an eye on trends in supply chain, in distribution technology & systems

Working Relationships

• Drives and supports project planning including developing all communication plans, both internal and external. Communicates key information to stakeholders with respect to project project schedule, Budget, and KPI achievement

• Supports senior management on various initiatives and special projects by researching, analyzing, recommending and completing implementation activities on time and budget. This will involve coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication, negotiation and change management in achieving objectives.

• Support local leadership with change management.

• Act as Subject mater expert and Train local leadership teams on all operational processes

Leadership

• Works closely with departmental management to develop projects/initiatives, which are aligned to strategic/business objectives. Leads cross-functional teams to develop strategic network analysis and supply chain project.

• Able to assist/coach other Project manager without having management responsibility.

Budgets

• Manages project expenses in accordance with project budgets.

Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education, Training and Experience

• A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

• A minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of progressively senior experience within a large complex multi-site organization. Project management experiences in strategic operation optimization and operation management are an asset.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Leadership experience with an emphasis on operations optimization, warehouse design, financial planning, business process engineering, business case development and performance management.

• Excellent understanding of distribution systems (WMS, WCS, LMS)

• Excellent knowledge of inventory management and procurement process

• Effective facilitation, coaching and mentoring skills with demonstrated experience.

• Effective negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills with external organizations (vendors, service providers).

• Financial background (P&L understanding, Business Case development)

• Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal, that engage and inform the target audience. French would be considered an asset.

• Client-focused with an ability to facilitate and encourage cooperation between diverse operational groups and skill sets

• Being a team player and focused on collaborative work

• Advanced Excel, AutoCAD, smartsheet skills

• Mobility to travel according to projects.
