Join the Communications and Marketing Team in the External Affairs sector, where we have the focus, the people and the voice to help achieve our aspiration to make housing affordable for everyone in Canada. In your role, you will be part of the team delivering federal government visibility events as part of the Government of Canada’s communications objective of demonstrating how the National Housing Strategy is best supporting the housing affordability needs of people living in Canada.

This is a temporary position of a duration of 6 months, with possibility of extension based on business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare and execute the visibility initiatives via various media events in different markets across Canada.
  • Support the regional lead in delivering these communications tactics by providing sound advice, ensuring quality control of products and timely reporting.
  • Support the development and implementation of products and logistics of virtual and/or on-site media events.
  • Ensure quality control of all communications products related to ministerial events and announcements.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and data entry management.
  • Develop and manage relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency in all communications and marketing products.
  • Manage relationships with vendors delivering services in support of visibility events.
  • Possess the ability to organize, manage time, and work on multiple projects in a fast-paced ever-changing environment with tight deadlines.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field, such as communications, marketing or journalism.
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience in writing a variety of communications’ products .
  • Experience in planning and implementing communications tactics.
  • Experience in managing relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in event management and logistics.
  • Travel requirement: Travel may be required within Western and Northern Canada, typically once or twice per month.
