Job Summary

Bring your vision, leadership, and strategic planning skills to this important role

As Senior Program Officer, you will be supporting large scale proposals with significant impact to both internal and external partners. You will be accountable for defining and controlling all activities to ensure delivery within scope, schedule, and specified quality. Working in a collaborative team setting, you can adapt quickly to frequent changes in priorities, effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external partners, develop approaches to and participate in engagement sessions, and develop options, strategies and approaches to address issues and program needs.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in business or public administration or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience Independently managing multiple projects or leading a component (e.g., sub-project) of a major project (preference may be given to candidates with more years of experience).
  • Experience in research, policy or program development.
  • Experience in concisely and persuasively writing a range of reports, submissions or documents while coordinating multiple sources of input.


Preference may be given to applicants with recent related experience in the following:

  • Experience working and collaborating with Indigenous communities, other levels of government and/or external partners.
  • Experience supporting engagements with diverse partners, including Indigenous partners, and cross-ministry representatives and external organizations.
  • Indigenous heritage (First Nations, Métis or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.


Willingness Statement:

  • Travel, as necessary, may be a requirement; therefore, transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Ministry.

About this Position:
This position can be based in any Children and Family Development office.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
Currently, we have one temporary appointment until June 2025. A permanent appointment may result from this temporary appointment.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 4 days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.
