YOUR PROFILE

YOUR CHALLENGE

As part of the Talent and Culture, North America team and functionally reporting to the Senior Business Partner, Programs and Policies - HR, you will contribute to transforming the human resources group by positioning the payroll and benefits component as a support and foundational level for organizational growth. You will make an impact through:

Overseeing the payroll outsourcing and employee benefits management process:

  • Working with Ceridian Managed and according to the payroll schedule and annual activities, you will contribute to the full pay cycle process (end of month/quarter and end of year) (QC/ON/US);
  • Taking ownership of US tax cases along with the Ceridian department;
  • Validating payroll data accuracy;
  • Updating the employee benefit data that the payroll system is not managing;
  • Filling out CNESST claims ; managing the administrative part of disability and injury case ; auditing monthly group insurance invoices.
Contributing to optimizing payroll system usage and configuration:

  • Analyzing indicators and recommend improvement opportunities that support a quality service offer and efficient processes and procedures;
  • Being involved in the various Dayforce-Ceridian implementation phases;
  • Contributing to onboarding new employees, making changes to employee files and host training sessions on the payroll and employee benefits system.
Acting as a customer support department to the organization’s key players and stakeholders:

  • Being the contact person to help employees with payroll and employee benefits issues;
  • Preparing and verifying reports (payroll, month-end and year-end, records of employment, contributions, tax deductions);
  • Ensuring the application of and compliance with the various business rules, mainly employee benefits and compensation;
  • Assisting in drafting/updating policies and procedures related to managing payroll and employee benefits;
  • Keeping up on legislation/provisions related to labour laws and payroll policies.
YOUR SKILLS

  • Diploma of College Studies in accounting or other relevant training and extensive experience
  • Knowledge of the Ceridian’s Dayforce platform ; member of the Canadian Payroll Association (an asset)
  • Fluency in English and French (written and spoken)
  • High-level proficiency with Office suite software (Excel, Word);
  • Initiative in carrying out assignments;
  • Interpersonal communication skills;
  • Be discreet, flexible and agile with various files that may be assigned to them ;
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented.
