The Senior Systems Engineer’s role full focus on Active Directory, Windows Servers, Conditional Access through group policy, and asset access (user and device) on-premise, Azure AD (tenant and Subscription) and AWS (IAM with VPC Services). This includes primary deployment and operational hands-on management and ongoing maintenance and support of the various infrastructure technologies deployed in Bayshore. In addition, this position will be responsible for providing 2nd level and/or 3rd level support including technical guidance to IT teams and users as required. This position will join a team responsible for compute and storage infrastructure, telephony systems, call center platforms including datacenter network and branch office connectivity.

The Senior Systems Engineer reports directly to the Manager , Cloud and Build Services.

Key Responsibilities

Product Design, Implement, Manage, Support and maintain the following Technologies:
Must have Senior Engineer strong hands-on experience and product understanding of the below services and be able to support related products as needed:

  • In-depth knowledge and experience with the Microsoft enterprise systems: Windows server 2012 – 2019, Active Directory - with the ability to support both on premise and Azure/cloud-based deployments.
  • Manage and maintain Microsoft Active Directory including replication, overall directory health, management of objects (users, groups, computers, etc.)
  • Ability to take ownership and operational management of our Active Directory eco-system
  • Experience with cloud policy and service management
  • Group Policy Objects (GPOs), certificates, and their impact on Active Directory. Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM), authentication and authorization in particular.
  • Expert knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Identity technologies - Microsoft Identity Manager
  • Expert knowledge of AD, ADFS, DNS, DHCP, WINS, DFS
  • Experience in working with Windows troubleshooting and performance tools
  • Troubleshoot complex account issues within multi-directory enterprise solution
  • Understanding of Windows Server Life Cycle Management and relevant hypervisors – Provisioning, Activation, Decommissioning etc.
  • PowerShell, PowerCLI to automate tasks
  • Understanding of how VDI environments interact with Active Directory. Citrix would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability in Active Directory administration within Microsoft Windows Server infrastructures and Relevant Services, migrate policies and objects from one domain to another as well as integrate with Azure Active Directory using DirSync and Active Directory Connect.
  • Follow-up on pending tickets and resolve in timely manner - Perform root cause analysis, document gaps, and provide recommendations on future improvements. Participate in projects and initiatives, as assigned
  • Write user guides and / or modify / maintain existing documentation.
  • Good to have Deep technical knowledge and experience in provisioning cloud solutions(AWS/Azure) with preference given to candidates with experience in Amazon Web Services
  • Ensure that IT security is monitored and maintained throughout the infrastructure, both internal and external facing devices/applications/services, etc.
  • Ensure that all the above comply with the appropriate corporate policies (i.e.: Security, Operations, Incident and Change Management, System Development Life Cycle)
  • Maintain configuration control of all assigned products in accordance with established procedures
  • Represent his/her technical platform as needed in projects, incidents and changes
  • Provide second level and/or third level support to all other IT areas such as, Technical Support team, Development group etc.
  • Hold cross training sessions for these groups to help support access processes and how they apply
  • Participation in security activities including remediation.
  • High technical, analytical, logical and trouble shooting skills in using structured tools and techniques.
  • Ability to architect, develop and implement infrastructure changes.
  • Coordinates and manages the installation of data center hardware and the associated software.

Job Qualification

Education

  • Degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent
  • Industry certifications in one or more of the following:
o Windows Server Administration Fundamentals - Understanding Active Directory, server roles
o Microsoft – MCSE, MCSA Server Infrastructure certification
o Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator
o Administering Windows Server Hybrid Core Infrastructure
o Windows Server 2019 Administration
o AWS
o Azure certification in Fundamentals, Solutions Architect, SysOps administrator, Security Engineering

Experience

  • 6-10 years in a senior technical role supporting Active Directory and related eco-systems that deliver secure access for users to applications, servers and desktops
  • 3-5 years with VMWare
  • 6-10 years with Windows Servers
  • 4-6 years provisioning and supporting cloud services
