The Self-Awareness Recreation and Entertainment (SHARE) Coordinator will, under the general direction of the Clinical Manager, drawing on their own skills and experience, provide advocacy and support services to a person living with mental health problems and will participate in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs and services for individuals, families and the community.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum grade 12 education
  • Experience as a mental health consumer
  • Courses related to mental health would be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated fiscal and budgetary responsibility
  • Leadership in planning and facilitating social recreational and life skills opportunities for peers
  • Ability to provide peer support to the program members
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge regarding symptoms of severe mental illness
  • Self motivated and ability to motivate others
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community of Renfrew County and issues concerning individuals living with serious mental illness
  • Demonstrated computer software application skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Valid class G drivers license
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is preferred
