Who you’ll be working with

  • Keeping track of wider social media and technology trends and reporting back to the wider team.
  • Maintaining a brand voice, consistent with our style and organisational goals.
  • Generating a buzz around and generating sign-ups for upcoming live events such as webinars, which may be hosted on social media or our own platform.
  • Managing and moderating conversations and interactions with and between community members. You will have a small team of moderators available.
  • Day-to-day operations of Moving2Canada social media accounts, including, but not limited to, scheduling posts, reels, stories, and other output, as well as moderating commentary.
  • Bringing content creation ideas back to the wider team, based on interactions and trends observed in the course of day-to-day social media management.

Over time, community discussions may move on to our own platform, either in addition to or instead of groups and discussion boards on platforms such as Facebook.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience growing social media channels.
  • Understanding of social media platforms and specifications.
  • Experience creating strategies.
  • A post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A highly communicative personality, with a good sense for people and the mood of an audience. You’re decisive in a tight spot, can manage a crisis calmly and mediate fairly between diverging opinions.
  • You have a good eye for trends and provide a strong rationale for your content plan. You know where the stories are and which topics excite your audience.

Bonus points:

  • Experience working with newcomer audiences or subject matters.
