Our client, a boutique firm providing tax and accounting services, is looking for a Sr Staff Accountant to join their high-performing team on a permanent basis. The Staff Accountant will support month-end activities like account reconciliations and journal entries as well as assist with personal tax preparation and corporate tax. About our Client
Our client, a boutique firm providing tax and accounting services, is looking for a Sr Staff Accountant to join their high-performing team on a permanent basis. The Staff Accountant will support month-end activities like account reconciliations and journal entries as well as assist with personal tax preparation and corporate tax. This client offers a great collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients in any inquiries relating to their bookkeeping
- Complete bank reconciliations, cash flow reports and financial statements
- Process accounting transactions and post to GL
- Prepare personal and corporate tax returns
- Process Client payroll as needed
- Prepare government remittances for payroll, GST, WCB, and corporate installments
Qualifications
- 4 years experience with tax accounting, an asset if you have experience working in an accounting firm
- Review Engagement experience is a must
- Audit experience is an asset but not mandatory
- Must be detail-oriented
- Experience leading a team is an asset
- Working on Compilation, Review and Audit engagements
- Preparation of corporate tax returns, personal income tax returns, and trust returns
- Experience managing and training staff
- Assist with tax planning and research as required
- Communication with tax regulatory agencies for ongoing client matters
