We are looking for a like-minded individual experience to join our team. This position requires someone who can work in a fast pace environment and has a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

We are looking for Stone Slinger DZ Drivers who can handle a variety of assignments for local aggregate hauling. Based out of our Queensville yard.

  • Perform mandatory circle checks on trucks before driving them to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order,
  • Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and is secure,
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned,
  • Operate communication equipment such as truck cab telephones to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers,
  • Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial regulations,
  • Deliver product and proper paperwork to our customers in a courteous and timely manner,
  • Must be professional, respectful & courteous when dealing with customers, general public and coworkers,
  • Must be dependable and be able to manage time effectively to ensure maximum efficiency,
  • Must keep equipment clean and in good condition (cleaning materials provided & report equipment deficiencies to onsite mechanics).

Skills Required:

Successful candidates will have the following skills:

  • We require a good safety and driving record and the highest degree of dependability,
  • Valid DZ driver’s license & clean Driver's Abstract,
  • Must be safety oriented and report to each shift with full PPE (CSA approved hard hat, safety shirt/vest & work boots),
  • Able to drive using a manual transmission,
  • Able to work long days, flexible work hours & weekends,
  • Must be physically able to climb ladder & able to clean out dump box (shovel),
  • Must have 5 years tri-axle dump truck experience,
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, coworkers and dispatcher,
  • Must be able to follow directions and work in high traffic areas such as GTA,
  • Aggregate experience an asset,
  • Must speak fluent English.
