Internship Opportunity – Bell Helicopter Canadian Supply Centre

Bell Textron Canada Limited (BTCL) is seeking a full-time, four-month intern for statistical analysis and general administrative support at BTCL’s Canadian Supply Centre in Calgary, Alberta.

Working with the Material Support group of Bell Helicopter’s Canadian Government Programs team, the incumbent will focus on data mining and patterning consumption of consumable and repairable parts for the Department of National Defense (DND) CH146 Griffon utility and tactical transport helicopter fleet. The Griffon helicopter is derived from BTCL’s 412 medium-lift helicopter and serves duty in search and rescue, utility operations, tactical training, and special operations. BTCL is contracted by DND as the prime Weapon System Support contractor.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide support and methodology development to BTCL’s Material Support group while exploring various modeling and predictive analytic techniques
• Develop analysis of parts consumption by data mining a historical database to focus material pre-positioning efforts over multiple Defense squadrons operating across Canada and in austere conditions abroad
• Identify correlations and provide probabilistic assessment of aircraft needs
• Work with business and process leaders to identify analytical requirements and improve data capture across the program

Provide general administrative and warehouse support as needed to ensure coverage during staff leave

The Canadian Supply Centre, located in the northeast corner of the logistics park near Calgary International Airport, is at Bay 101, 58 Aero Drive NE. The internship will be completed on site with a regular (5 x 8 hours) or compressed work week (4 x 9 hours, 1 x 4 hours) at the candidates’ discretion.

Candidates must be permanent residents or Canadian citizens. The successful candidate will be subject to security screening and will operate under Government of Canada reliability status for the duration of the internship.
