Job Description:

The City of Penticton's Recreation Department is currently seeking Summer Day Camp Leaders. Are you responsible, energetic, personable, resourceful and well-organized? If so, this may be the job for you!

Day Camp Leaders work as a team to provide a summer to remember for children 5-12 years old.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed program plans to ensure all activities are age appropriate and engaging.
  • Lead and supervise a variety of activities, with the safety of all camp children being priority at all times.
  • Build positive rapport with all campers and their families.
  • Establish and maintain open communication with parents/caregivers and colleagues.


Required Qualifications:

  • Experience and/or education background working with children and youth.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfortable swimming and participating in a variety of physical activities.
  • Complete a satisfactory criminal record check.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR-C.
  • Assets to Employment:
  • High Five Certification.
  • Valid NLS Certification.

Schedule:
June 19 - September 01, 2023 (Approximate) 40 hours per week, between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday

Wage:
$19.00 per hour

Benefits:
Additional 15% in lieu of benefits and vacation
