Job Summary
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Qualified individuals hired for a student Planning Internship will undertake and assist with planning-related activities pertaining to community planning, land use research, data and information collection, mapping, report preparation, safety initiatives, license reviews, site inspections, community consultation and other related duties as required.
  • The proposed positions will provide practical planning experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Research, program and policy development.
  • Demographic analysis and database management.
  • Geographic Information Systems.
  • Community planning.
  • Bylaw administration and enforcement.
  • Community consultation.
Qualifications
  • Completion of two years’ university with current enrollment in a Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) recognized planning program, or a related field of study.
  • Knowledge and experience working with various standard Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Experience with POSSE database applications would be an asset
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member, using solid analytical and organizational skills.

Weekly Hours: 36.67
Salary Range: $21.63 to $23.85 CAD per hour (2023 rates)
