The Spiyu7ullucw Ranch Corporation is a fast growing and vital organization committed to development and
progress. As such Spiyu7ullucw Ranch is looking for a qualified, highly motivated, and dynamic team member to
fill the following position.

Position/Title: Ranch Hand – Irrigation (2 Openings)
Board of Directors: Spiyu7ullucw Ranch Corporation / Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc
Direct Supervisor: Ranch Manager
Term: Seasonal May - September


Nature and Scope:

Reporting directly to the Ranch Manager. The Ranch Hand will perform irrigation tasks, but are not limited to
irrigation, fencing, livestock, and hay production for the Spiyu7ullucw Ranch.


Required abilities, knowledge, and skills:


  • Maintain and minor repair work on agricultural equipment, ie irrigation pipes. Ensure all equipment is

maintained with appropriate adjustments and lubrication, using proper tools.

  • Move wheel and/or hand irrigation lines on a schedule as set out by the Ranch Manager.
  • Maintain a daily timesheet on activities and maintenance requirements.
  • Willing to work irregular hours as harvesting/weather conditions dictate.
  • Operate various farm equipment including but not limited to the tractor, etc.
  • Operate equipment or tools in a safe manner in accordance with all established rules, regulations, and plans.
  • Maintain Ranch lawns and weed control using a lawn tractor & weed trimmer.
  • Report any tools or equipment that are not in good working order, to the Ranch Manager.
  • Must work independently and within strict guidelines as set out by the Ranch Manager.
  • Must be physically fit and move empty hand and/or wheel irrigation lines.
  • Other related duties as required.

Required abilities, knowledge, and skills:
  • Some maintenance requirements.
  • Must be flexible, committed, and enthusiastic.


  • Must be able work independently within strict guidelines.

Required license, certifications, etc.:

- 3 - 5 years previous Ranch experience. Ranch background an asset.
  • Must have completed grade 10 or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid First Aid Certificate.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License (ability to provide a driver’s license abstract upon request)
  • Must have reliable transportation.


Hours of Work: Normal hours of work for Ranch & Non-normal shift may be required

(As per B.C. Labour Code –Agriculture) 8 hours a day – 5 to 7 days a
week (Irrigation)

Pay grade: $20 per hour.
