Summer Student - Laboratory Assistant (Day/Night Shift Rotation) Job at Semex

We are looking for Laboratory Assistants to join our growing production team at our recently renovated and expanded Guelph location. The Lab Assistant role will work 7am to 5pm when their assigned team is working the day shift and 2 pm to 12 am when on the night shift.
NOTE: the site is not accessible by transit. Reliable transportation required.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of consumables required for processing genetic material
- Straw printing
- Centrifugation and combination of sorted semen tubes in cold room
- Evaluation of semen samples for concentration, volume and sperm quality
- Cleaning Flow Cytometer machines between sorting
- Sample identification, labeling and data entry into the ERP system
- Purity testing on semen samples
- Cleaning and sterilizing labware
- Nitrogen tank filling
- Inventory tracking
